Overview
Turn the prototype into a real system
A clickable prototype can show a promising experience while leaving open the hard questions: who can see a record, where it is stored, and what happens when two people change it. Supabase provides building blocks such as a database, authentication, and storage. Those tools become useful when the product team has decided what the information means and who should have access.
We approach the backend from the customer's task and the organization's responsibilities. The data model should support the product's next decisions, not merely the screens in its first demo.
What We Do With it
Data and access shaped around the product
We can model records and relationships, connect authentication, set access rules, and integrate files or other services where the experience requires them. We coordinate these choices with the interface so users see clear loading, empty, and error states instead of a silent failure. For an MVP, we prioritize the core action that proves the product is useful while leaving the foundation legible enough to extend.
How We Use It
Test permissions before adding features
We begin with a few realistic user roles and the information each role should be able to create, read, or change. We build one complete workflow, test it with ordinary and edge-case data, and verify access from both the interface and backend. A polished screen is not evidence that the underlying permissions are right.
We document the schema and operational ownership before launch. The aim is to learn from a real product without making its first customers the testers of basic data behavior.
