Overview
Test a scene before building the whole film
Motion can explain a product or create a mood quickly, but a team often needs to see timing and framing before a full shoot or animation. Runway offers AI video generation and creative controls that can support those early experiments and selected production assets. We use it to answer a concrete visual question rather than generate clips without a place in the story.
A short sequence still needs direction. The subject, action, camera movement, transition, and role in the edit should be clear before anyone judges whether a generated result works.
What We Do With it
Storyboards, tests, and footage
We can develop image references, prompt and revise shots, test visual continuity, and bring selected clips into an edit with live action, designed elements, or sound. We plan for the format and where the footage will appear: a page hero, a pitch, or a campaign cut each demands different pacing. We also evaluate whether a scene is better produced through traditional footage or motion design. The right method depends on the message and the control the project needs.
How We Use It
Cut the clip into the story
We start with a brief sequence and a specific audience response. We test several frames, choose one direction, generate the shot, and review it in the actual edit. We look for inconsistencies, awkward movement, and moments that would pull attention away from the point.
We keep the strongest material and discard the rest. Runway helps a team explore and make motion, while sequencing, sound, and editorial judgment make the final piece communicate.
