Overview
Make publishing predictable
A site can be beautifully built and still be difficult to maintain if every update feels risky. Netlify provides a platform for building and deploying web projects, including preview and production workflows. Those capabilities matter when they make review and release easier for the people accountable for the site.
We look at how changes move from an idea to a public page. Designers, developers, editors, and stakeholders need a shared understanding of what is being reviewed, what can go live, and how to respond if something is wrong.
What We Do With it
Deployment workflow and site operations
We can configure a repository connection, build settings, environment variables, preview workflow, and domain setup for the project. We coordinate any forms, redirects, or connected services with the actual site experience. The goal is a release path that lets the team inspect meaningful changes before they reach customers and trace which change caused a problem afterward. We document the parts that need an owner, including access and recurring updates.
How We Use It
Practice a real release
We test a small content or code change from branch to preview to production, then check the rendered pages, key interactions, and links. We also test how the team would correct a mistake. A process is only useful if the people who will run it can understand it under ordinary working conditions.
We keep the workflow proportionate to the site. A simple site should be easy to publish; a complex one should have enough checks to protect its customer journey.
