Overview
Keep the signal as work grows
Product teams hear requests from customers, sales, support, and their own research. Without a shared process, urgent messages can displace important work while good ideas disappear. Linear helps teams organize issues, projects, and product work. The system is most useful when the team has agreed how a request becomes a decision, not simply a ticket.
We look at where product feedback originates and what evidence is needed to act on it. Then we define a light path from capture through triage, delivery, and communication back to the people affected.
What We Do With it
A deliberate product queue
We can set up teams, projects, issue conventions, cycles, and views that support the team's planning rhythm. We write issues around a problem and expected outcome, link related work, and clarify who decides priority. We avoid turning every note into a commitment. Where design and engineering work together, the record should preserve enough context for a useful conversation without becoming a long document nobody reads.
How We Use It
Test a request from intake to release
We follow a representative customer problem through triage, scoping, build, review, and the release note or customer update. We check whether an issue has a clear owner and whether a change of priority is visible. We also look at how unfinished work returns to the queue without losing its reason for being there.
The result is a product workflow the team can sustain. A good tool helps people make better tradeoffs and keeps the work connected to the problem it was meant to solve.
