Overview
Give a technical task enough context
A small change can cross components, tests, build scripts, and deployment settings. Claude Code can inspect a repository, edit files, and run commands in a development workflow. We use that reach for tasks with a defined outcome and a developer who can verify the resulting behavior, especially when the work requires understanding several parts of a system together.
The client should not have to care which assistant wrote a line. They should be able to see what was changed, why it was needed, and how the team confirmed it works.
What We Do With it
Repository work with checkpoints
We can use Claude Code to investigate a bug, implement a scoped feature, refactor code, or update supporting documentation. We provide the project context, constraints, and tests that matter, then review the proposed plan and edits. We keep credentials and access under the team's control and inspect commands that affect external systems. When the agent finds an unexpected condition, we resolve it against the product requirement rather than letting it choose a new direction by default.
How We Use It
Verify the user journey
We reproduce the problem, ask the agent to trace it, and compare its proposed fix with the existing architecture. After the change, we run relevant checks and walk the actual customer path, including failure and empty states. A passing test is evidence, but the user experience still needs a human look.
We leave a readable diff and a clear handoff. Claude Code can handle the mechanics of a broad task while the team maintains responsibility for the product.
