Overview
Find the gap behind the ranking
A competitor may rank for a phrase because its page answers the question well, because other sites trust it, or simply because the alternatives are weak. Ahrefs helps us examine the pages and links behind that visibility. It does not tell us to imitate the page or write the same article with a different headline.
We use the research to decide where a service page needs more clarity, where an existing article deserves a stronger answer, and where a new topic has enough relevance to justify the work.
What We Do With it
A focused map of search opportunities
We review topic clusters, competing pages, backlink context, internal linking, and site health. From there we build page briefs and a practical order of work: repair an important page, connect related services, create a useful resource, or leave a low-fit term alone. The output should help a team allocate writing and design effort, not become a permanent spreadsheet of attractive keywords.
How We Use It
Study the result before writing the page
We inspect the search results and the actual pages people visit, then compare those answers with what the organization knows firsthand. Search Console and customer conversations help us test whether the opportunity fits the business. A page should bring a real perspective, example, or explanation to the topic.
We return to the data after publishing to see which queries the page earns and whether visitors find a next step. A ranking that sends the wrong audience to a thin page is not much of a win.
